IFP Alumni Association Launch and Inaugural Roger Casement Lecture
The Ireland Fellows Programme Alumni Association (IFPAA) has officially been launched. The launch, held on July 9, 2026, brought together alumni, with some current Fellows joining virtually. It was an opportunity for everyone to reconnect, share experiences and learn more about the new alumni network. A key moment of the event was the unveiling of the Association’s logo, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Association. Special guests included the Ambassador of Ireland to Nigeria, H.E. Peter Ryan. The Association’s Interim President, Aliyu Usman, delivered the keynote address, speaking about the importance of the Association and its work. The event also featured the inaugural Roger Casement Lecture, delivered by Ambassador Tunde Ajisomo. The lecture reflected on Roger Casement’s life and legacy, including his work documenting human rights challenges in the Congo Free State and Southern Nigeria. It also considered the continued relevance of his commitment to justice and human rights today. The IFP Alumni Network is an opportunity for former Fellows to stay in touch, share knowledge and experiences, and continue supporting one another beyond their time in Ireland. With the launch, the Association begins a new chapter, building on the relationships created through the Ireland Fellows Programme.
